      1. Perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
      2. Edifying of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 14:26)
      3. To bring about unity
      4. To instruct how we ought to live
      5. To strengthen so we know truth from false teaching
3. Who is to teach in the Assembly?
   1. The responsibility of a teacher is a great responsibility, but we should not deny the responsibility simply because it is difficult. (James 3:1-2; Heb. 5:12)
   2. Faithful men ought to be taught so they may teach others. (2 Tim. 2:2)
   3. Women teachers? (1 Cor. 14:34-35)
4. What we are to teach?
   1. The Word of God, as revealed by the Holy Spirit (2 Tim. 3:16; John 16:13)
   2. The Gospel (Matt. 28:19-20; Rom. 1:16)
   3. The Whole Counsel of God (Acts 20:26-27; 2 Tim. 4:1-5)
